Product Overview
Tiger HiPro is a high performance organic polymer that provides viscosity and fluid loss control in a fresh and sea water based drilling fluids. Suitable for offshore drilling and has CEFAS (UK) certification for use in offshore drilling projects.
Certification
Tiger HiPro holds CEFAS (UK) certification for use in offshore drilling projects.
CEFAS — the UK Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science — administers the Offshore Chemical Notification Scheme (OCNS), under which chemicals intended for offshore use in the OSPAR area are assessed for their environmental hazard. A product must be notified and assessed under that scheme before an operator can permit its use offshore.
For an offshore, marine-adjacent or otherwise environmentally sensitive programme, that assessment is usually a precondition of a chemical being allowed on site at all, so it is worth confirming at the planning stage rather than at mobilisation.

Applications
Tiger HiPro provides filtration control in fresh and sea water systems. Through inhibition, borehole stability is enhanced in water sensitive formations with the excellent carrying capacity of the fluid aiding hole cleaning.
Advantages
- Effective in fresh and sea water based muds
- High viscosity product
- High yield point helps with hole cleaning
- Cost effective
- Non toxic for environmentally sensitive areas.
Typical Properties
- Appearance
- White free flowing powder
- pH (1% Aqueous solution)
- 7.0 – 8.0
Mixing & Dosage
Tiger HiPro should be mixed slowly into the circulating system using agitation or a venturi mixer. Allow at least 20 minutes mixing to achieve full viscosity potential.
- Fresh water drilling conditions – 1 to 2 kg/m³ to achieve 40 second fluid
- Sea water drilling conditions – 3 to 5 kg/m³ to achieve 40 second fluid
Rates are a guide and vary with hole conditions, make-up water and formation. Confirm against the data sheet or call our technical team.
